I do not want my new works to be generated in a market or audience of any kind.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I don't want to make niche-oriented music.
I want my writing to reach people. I don't write for a market. I write from my heart, something that appeals to me. The marketing, segmenting etc., can be done by your publisher, not you.
I do have a small collection of traditional SF ideas which I've never been able to sell. I'm known as a fantasy writer and neither my agent nor my editors want to risk my brand by jumping genre.
I want to do what I want when I want to do it not be dictated to by audiences.
The problem is that I don't want to add another record to the world that is not necessary to be published, except to make some business. There has to be a musical reason.
I don't write for an audience, I don't think whether my book will sell, I don't sell it before I finish writing it.
I don't want my writing to be work to read. My main goal is completely shameless entertainment. I want people to smile and giggle and enjoy the book. I'm not trying to save the world through literature.
Don't let anyone discourage you from writing. If you become a professional writer, there are plenty of editors, reviewers, critics, and book buyers to do that.
I want my films to get audiences. I am not interested in making them just for myself.
I'm always trying to bring unusual content to a different audience - a non-art-world audience.
