When I'm on stage, it's like a different world ... me connecting with the audience. It's a surreal experience.

There's something about being in front of a live audience that's fun. It's a really interesting, very electric, very alive, and intense experience, and you can't get it anywhere else. And I've been doing it since I was 23, so it's part of my being - it's part of my fabric as a person.

My live show is almost like a meditation. An emotional apex - that's what I want it to feel like.

I get very excited when I go to a show - there are all these people who don't know each another who've come together to celebrate this amazing ritual. The making of community that theater provides is quite profound.

I have to feel the audience. I enjoy that feeling of community. There's something sort of spiritual about it in a lot of ways. It's like we're all doing this together.

I always meditate before every show. I say a prayer with my crew and my band to get in the mode, and I also stretch because it's a very athletic show. We've got to entertain; it's what we do.

People like the shows I do. I want to be real, to have fun, even when I dance on stage... it's a buzz.

We try to connect with the audience as much as we can. We feel the energy from the audience, and it gives us so much joy and inspiration.

I can't really connect with things unless they are spiritual in nature, so I have to make acting spiritual for myself, and each role a spiritual journey for me.

Honestly, live is my favorite way of performing. Every show is a completely different energy.
