One of my big inspirations was Chuck Berry, and his playing was always about the rhythm and the lyrics. So I've always been that way in my playing, really.

I used to be afraid to use the word 'pop' to describe my music, but underneath my tough, bad-girl sound, there's some fun.

Pop music thrives on repetition. You know a song's a hit when you've heard it so often that you'll be happy never to hear it again.

When a song gets its legs and begins to come to me, this is the euphoric hook that keeps me wanting to continue.

That's what I love about our music - it'll never be a hit because you can't dance to it.
