I've had to change careers several times. Sometimes because my interests changed. Sometimes because all bridges have been burned beyond recognition, sometimes because I desperately needed money. And sometimes just because I hated everyone in my old career or they hated me.

It changed my life in a lot of ways - before I got that role I was just going from job to job, not really having enough money to be able to do what I wanted to do.

I studied business in school, so I worked for Chanel in marketing. And I also worked part-time in an office. So I had office jobs. And then I realized I needed to get the hell out of there, just realizing there was no fulfillment.

I totally changed my life, changed my lifestyle.

I didn't like not having work and not having people return my calls.

After my health suffered due to the stress of running my second company, I had to switch careers. But I still didn't want to go back to the corporate world. So I became an academic.

People tried to make me something that I wasn't at the beginning of my career.

I started out as a receptionist. I typed, I filed, I answered the phones for a little nine-person company.

When I came into the business, things changed a lot, and my life was in a real state of flux.
