You basically do have a TV show when you're making stuff online. You have an audience that you make stuff for regularly.

I'm on the Internet a lot more than I watch TV and most everybody I know is, and yet if you watch most late-night talk shows, it's as if it doesn't even exist.

The Internet is far more engaging as an interactive medium than broadcast. Barriers to creating content are going away; they're almost gone. People are taking control of their entertainment. People are Tweeting, posting on Facebook and YouTube.

When you're writing a novel, you spend four years sitting in your basement and a year waiting for the book to come out and then you get the feedback. When you do work online, the moment you're finished making it, people start responding to it which is really fun and allows for a kind of community development you just can't have in novels.

On the Web you have to sum up what your piece of content is in one link or nobody is going to watch it. That's the same thing I've been hearing from TV executives - is we need a program that you can have on the side of a bus and someone can watch it go by and get what the show is and want to watch it.

You do a job; your show gets canceled. You get used to it.

Really, having a show freely available online is like having your book in the library. It's wonderful; it's ideal.

I think if you make good, interesting content with compelling story lines and good characters, people will tune into the web for as long as you want them to.
