I try to keep in mind that it's a long journey. It's not a race. It's about staying focused, continuing to do good work, make my family and community proud; that's all I really want to do... and pay my bills.

Driving race cars was an avenue for me to learn how to build my own car, and that was my ambition all along.

For me, the American Dream was to go racing; for others, it's to pursue whatever their goals may be.

For the last seven years, I have been racing the best in the world and making my way through the ranks. I am in that spot where I have got a real opportunity to produce something. I am not going to take it for granted because I know those guys will step it up.

I can have my goals, and I can have my dreams. My goal is to make the finals and improve my position. I want to run all decent races. I don't want to look back and say I ran a terrible race.

That is an important part of my success. Another big part of my success is that I hated not to finish a race.

I'm disappointed that I really haven't been able to race in a way that is reflective of the amount of work that I have done and how I have trained. But I don't regret giving this a go.

I'm a very goal-oriented person, so I look at the specific demands of a certain race and tailor my training towards that.
