When there's change, people are always anxious.

Change is always tough. Even for those who see themselves as agents of change, the process of starting a new thing can cause times of disorientation, uncertainty and insecurity.

People are afraid of changing; that they're losing something. They don't understand that they are also gaining something.

What I think we fear is rapid, pronounced, and uncontrollable changes to ourselves, and because of this we have a form of personality inertia - something that resists rapid change.

'In Praise of Slowness' chronicles the global trend towards deceleration that has come to be known as the Slow Movement. Don't worry, though: it is not a Luddite rant. I love speed. Going fast can be fun, liberating and productive. The problem is that our hunger for speed, for cramming more and more into less and less time, has gone too far.

Change creates fear, and technology creates change. Sadly, most people don't behave very well when they are afraid.

Many times in life, we say we want change but are then terrified when the opportunity for it arrives.

I think sometimes people are scared to change. Sometimes people are scared to do something different, especially if they've been successful at something.

Change isn't a scary thing. It's constant and inevitable.

The only thing I fear more than change is no change. The business of being static makes me nuts.
