Once I opened a book, I felt compelled to finish it. I was drawn into a world, and I had to know what would happen, how it would end.

My next book is Scene by Scene: as Seen by Fay Wray. It'll be about different incidents. Just my feelings about quite a few people. Attitudes. My thoughts about the universe and simple things like that.

A book suggests a whole world and story that I could have never thought of in a million years.

For me, the world that I inhabit in reality is probably a very different world than the one people expect that I would be in.

End-of-the-world stories tend to ring true. I've always been drawn to them, but as I wrote my own, I found surprising pleasure in creating a world that is so radically changed, yet where there's so much meaning and value in every small and ordinary thing we have, and take for granted: hot showers, enough food, friends, routines.

Basically, I tend to see the world differently to other people, and I write books and stories to alter the imagination of people so that they also see the world in a different way.

Like many readers, I am continually in search of books that allow me to lose myself in an entirely unique universe.

I think because I try to keep things as real as I can, or I try to start from a place of reality, I almost don't have the imagination to write a book that's not set where I am.

I always wanted to be part of a movie that creates a different world.
