Public employees should have the right to bargain for better wages and working conditions, just like all employees do.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
I believe in workers' rights when people are doing a good job.
Paying your employees well is not only the right thing to do but it makes for good business.
The employer generally gets the employees he deserves.
Wage theft, worker rights and workplace discrimination should not be swept under the rug. The United States cannot have a functional economy where all the gains go to the corporate class while all the pain goes to regular workers.
I really don't think that the public-sector employees should be unionized.
I think it's unrealistic for public-sector employees to believe that they are immune from modifications to their pay and benefit packages.
Now workers should have the right to join unions. But unions should not be forced upon workers. And unions should not have the power to take money our of their members' paychecks to buy the support of politicians that are favored by the union bosses.
We must ensure not only that everyone receives equal pay for equal work, but that they have the opportunity to do equal work.
So let me be clear, Collective bargaining isn't a right, it is an expensive entitlement. Once and for all, we are giving the taxpayers a voice in this debate. We put the power back in the hands of the people.
Public employees contribute real value for the benefit of all citizens. Public-union bosses collect real money from all taxpayers for the benefit of a few.
