I am excited to bring elements of my lifestyle to the masses with the Rich Gang, and with Lil Wayne to be able to share the feel of our labels with the YMCMB Apparel brand.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
Everybody know, I don't do no promoting. I don't ever have to promote nothing, that's the beauty of Lil Wayne.
As a longtime fashion enthusiast and the architect of the YMCMB lifestyle, it makes perfect sense to partner with the esteemed Bravado and move into fashion and launch my apparel brands.
Swag defines an artist, period. Lil Wayne has his super-tattooed pierces and dreads swag. Jay-Z has his New York, grown man, Beyonce and 40/40 Club swag.
I like Lil Wayne.
Rappers make what's in, in. If we want to bring back something like Jordache, we just say it and the girls start wearing it. We have a lot of pull.
Whatever rappers wear is cool to people.
I look at Lil Wayne as being from my generation.
Ultimately I am happy that everybody is embracing hip hop and the sounds from the streets.
Lil Wayne'll make you wanna jump up, get three jobs, write a song, and do a movie!
My goal the whole time has been for people to see me as a stand-alone artist. I came out with Young Money, the biggest hip-hop label in the world at the time. And then it was, 'How do I branch away from Lil Wayne?'
