Writers do well to carefully attend to those moments of inspiration, because chances are that they're writing from a very deep place. The subsequent search that ensues to continually attend to that voice that you hear is what is going to give the story drive.

Stories surge up out of nowhere, and if they feel compelling, you follow them. You let them unfold inside you and see where they are going to lead.

People often ask writers where they get their inspiration, and for me, the short answer is that I haven't a clue; I'm just grateful that I get them.

It's always been my hope that I would write a story that would inspire and would connect with people in a way that would touch hearts.

The stories we can tell are those that happen to us; we meet, work, live, laugh, love, demonstrate, strive in community.

My mission as a writer is to give my readers hope to carry with them, and to promote a belief that they can do anything they set their minds to.
