You hear it in your brain. Whatever makes sense. Some songs work well as quartet songs, sometimes they don't.

Music is organized sound.

There will be some tracks on the next album which that will consist of mostly noise and feedback, whereas others may just have guitar parts and samples.

The Quartets have been a major part of my work.

As an improviser I'm now pretty comfortable with trios, so I'm thinking of working up to quartets.

More recently, I used guitar synthesizer extensively on the two albums I did with Robert Fripp.

There's a couple of tracks on the new record which is sort of using similar sort of rhythms as the drum and bass tracks but playing it all live. It's a new approach to it.

My dad used to sing in a quartet. He loved everything: adult contemporary, anything smooth. He'd listen to the quartets.
