Core strengthening is key to everything. It's not just about the way I look, but about stabilizing my body so I can perform better on stage.

I also work out because I have scoliosis. I have to maintain certain strength in my core.

For me, a big thing, because I have really long legs, is core stability. It's very important not only for injury but also just to be able to carry my weight around properly and not feel like I'm collapsing in specific situations when I'm stretched out too far.

The legs and arms can be a revelation of the back, the spine's extensions.

Your body is like a machine, and if you don't keep it in shape, it holds you back. You don't want anything holding you back, especially yourself.

I do abs every day: regular, weighted crunches and sit-ups every other day, then my obliques and my sides on the alternating day. So I'm working my core every day.

In regards to core training, I try to incorporate the medicine ball whenever possible. As a baseball player, there is a lot of twisting and turning that I will do. Keeping my abs strong is as important as anything else.

There are a lot of different beliefs for tightening up your core. I think just being conscious of it and being aware to engage your muscles will help any woman's tummy get in shape.
