I'm one of those people who would be OK with fading back into the background a little bit.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
I felt better being in the background. That's the way I like it.
I always devise a background so that it makes what your character goes through logical and keeps up the continuity.
I'm a great audience myself. I tried to keep in the background while others were on, but sometimes I'd just get hysterical.
Some people seem to fade away but then when they are truly gone, it's like they didn't fade away at all.
I mean simply to say that I want my characters to suggest the background in themselves, even when it is not visible. I want them to be so powerfully realized that we cannot imagine them apart from their physical and social context even when we see them in empty space.
I felt that it's best just to be as transparent as possible.
I faded away for a while out of necessity.
Every other show that I'm on, they're always rushed, and you feel this pressure to hurry up and get out of the scene, but I don't feel that way on 'Transparent.' They like to linger in these scenes.
I've sort of escaped my background, as people often do, through art and culture.
I'm not going to just fade out, I know.
