I overthink a lot of things.

I am never excited to play through a song all the way, because it can reveal more flaws that mean more work. For some reason, I always have an irrational fear that the song will never be finished.

Well, once we finish something, I can't really listen to it because all I hear are problems.

Thinking about what songs are coming next instead of just relaxing, breathing and playing from my heart. Sometimes it can get to be almost like the enemy.

I'm a huge fan of not overemphasising with music.

I don't think about what I can't do or what I shouldn't be doing. I just think there are endless possibilities musically, really.

Ultimately, at the end of it, it's just trying to get into that space where you feel like you're hitting the right thing and you're making music. And it feels intuitive rather than being counterintuitive.

Sometimes I feel like I finish a song, and there's another song that I have to write in response to that song. Each is like its own separate feeling, its own separate universe.

Whenever I make music, it reflects where I'm at mentally.

For me, playing music is like meditating - I just play and don't really think about what I'm doing, I just let it happen.
