I think extreme sports are really good for relieving stress.
Creating something I can use is the best stress reliever.
Exercise helps me with stress. It changes your brain chemistry. I turn to Ashtanga yoga when I feel the need to relax. I love it, but it's not right for everybody. It's taught to you a little bit at a time, according to your body type and your strength. That keeps things challenging.
Dancing is my therapy. I also try to meditate every morning and take several two-hour yoga classes a week at my favorite yoga studio, Urban Flow.
Meditation was a turning point for me. It helped me deal with a lot of stress and has given me a lot of relaxation.
Dancing's not always stressful, but I always make sure that I'm prepared as I can be, both physically, mentally, and practically.
Exercise is really important to me - it's therapeutic. So if I'm ever feeling tense or stressed or like I'm about to have a meltdown, I'll put on my iPod and head to the gym or out on a bike ride along Lake Michigan with the girls.
Yoga gave me the ability to calm down.
Dance is such a stressful environment.
My way to de-stress is either listening to music or talking to my sister, Kourtney. She's going to teach me how to meditate, and that should help a lot.
